Product description
Stranded copper electrical cable (CU/XLPE/SWA/PVC) 3 phase + neutral line, Produced by Riyadh Cables Company, Armored with layer of steel wires (SWA) to give it mechanical strength to protect it from external pressures that fall on the cable. Insulated with XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene) which provides a unique combination of strength, flexibility and reliability making them suitable for a diverse range of applications. It can withstand high temperatures up to 90°C for extended periods without compromising performance. The cable also withstands harsh environmental conditions, including moisture, corrosion and chemicals, making it ideal for outdoor use. Chloride-free, making it environmentally friendly. It is also jacketed with a high-quality PVC (polyvinyl chloride) outer sheath that provides additional protection against corrosion, heat and moisture damage. XLPE cable is commonly used extensively in power transmission and distribution systems in homes, buildings, offices and industrial applications where there is a risk of mechanical damage. Available in different shapes, sizes and conductor ratings to meet diverse application requirements.

When to Choose SWA Armored Cables?
It is recommended to choose SWA Armored Cables when the cable route is exposed to potential impacts, pressure, or abrasion (such as outdoor installations, service areas, pump rooms, warehouses, or paths that may be subject to mechanical damage). The steel wire armoring provides additional mechanical protection compared to unarmored cables while maintaining suitable performance for low voltage applications within projects in Saudi Arabia.

Guidelines for Choosing SWA Armored Cables Before Purchase
- Determine the Installation Environment: If the route is exposed to factors that may cause mechanical damage, SWA Armored Cables are a suitable choice.
- Verify Voltage and Rating: This cable is designed for a voltage of 600/1000 Volts within the low voltage category.
- Select Number of Conductors: Having 3 Cores + Neutral is suitable for many three-phase power supply applications in buildings.
- Match Size to Load: Ensure that Size 50 mm² (according to the product data) fits the load, length of the route, and project requirements.
Important Installation Notes
For optimal performance and safety, it is advisable to adhere to the consultant/contractor's instructions and site safety standards, ensuring that the cable is not subjected to sharp bends or excessive tension during pulling, and selecting a route that minimizes friction and protects the PVC outer sheath. It is also recommended to check the product's compliance with the IEC 60502-1 standard mentioned in the product description before supplying it for projects.
