Product description
2 core stranded aluminum electrical cable (AL/XLPE/SWA/PVC), Produced by Riyadh Cables Company. according to IEC 60502-1 (International Electrotechnical Commission) standard. Armored with layer of steel wires (SWA) to give it mechanical strength to protect it from external pressures that fall on the cable. Insulated with XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene) which provides a unique combination of strength, flexibility and reliability making them suitable for a diverse range of applications. It can withstand high temperatures up to 90°C for extended periods without compromising performance. The cable also withstands harsh environmental conditions, including moisture, corrosion and chemicals, making it ideal for outdoor use. It is also jacketed with a high-quality PVC (polyvinyl chloride) outer sheath that provides additional protection against corrosion and mechanical damage. XLPE cable is commonly used extensively in power transmission and distribution systems in homes, buildings, offices and industrial applications where there is a risk of mechanical damage. Available in different shapes, sizes and conductor ratings to meet diverse application requirements.

Additional Information▼
Why choose SWA armored cables for this type of project?
SWA (Steel Wire Armor) cables are suitable when there is a possibility of the cable being subjected to pressure, shocks, or friction during installation on-site. The presence of the steel wire armor provides the cable with higher mechanical strength compared to unarmored cables, making it a practical choice for building projects and installations that require additional protection for the cable.
When is this cable suitable?
- When a low voltage cable 600/1000 volts with mechanical protection is needed.
- For installations that require insulation capable of withstanding temperatures up to 90°C for long operating periods thanks to XLPE.
- When preferring a cable with an external PVC sheath to help resist corrosion and use in harsh environments within work sites.

Guidelines for Choosing SWA Armored Cables Before Purchase
- Confirm Voltage: Ensure that the project requirements are within the range of 600/1000 volts (low voltage).
- Determine Number of Conductors: This product has 2 Conductors; choose it if the circuit requires that.
- Select Cross-Section Area: The size 35 mm² is suitable when loads require higher current and reduced loss (the final size should be determined based on the engineer's calculations).
- Installation Environment: The presence of SWA is important when there are risks of mechanical damage, and having PVC as an outer sheath provides additional protection.
