Product description
Stainless Steel Grade 904L (UNS N08904) is a high-nickel austenitic alloy specifically engineered for maximum resistance to corrosion in highly aggressive chemical environments. Unlike standard grades such as 304 or 316, 904L contains elevated levels of nickel, molybdenum, and copper, providing superior protection against sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and other strong oxidizing and non-oxidizing acids. This makes it the material of choice for severe chemical processing applications where standard stainless steels would fail rapidly.
Available primarily in sheet and plate forms, Grade 904L offers excellent formability and weldability while maintaining its mechanical integrity at both room temperature and elevated temperatures. It is supplied to meet international standards including ASTM A240 for flat-rolled products, EN 10088, and JIS G4304, ensuring consistent quality and performance for critical industrial projects.
